Following the successful completion of the 2024 Zenith Bank/NBBF Women’s Premier Basketball League, the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) has confirmed the start dates for the much-anticipated 2024 NBBF Men’s Premier Basketball League season.
According to the NBBF, 16 top teams in the country will compete across two conferences—the Atlantic and Savannah Conferences.
The Atlantic Conference, which is slated to take place in the Indoor Sports Hall of the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, Edo State, will run from October 25 to November 3, while the Savannah Conference is scheduled for the Rayfield Indoor Gym in Jos, Plateau State, during the same period.

Eight teams will compete in each conference, and four teams are expected to qualify from either conference to compete in the Final 8 tournament that will crown the new Nigerian champion.
The Atlantic Conference is made up of defending champions Rivers Hoppers, who made history with a third-place finish at the 2024 edition of the Basketball Africa League (BAL); Kwara Falcons (Kwara); Ebun Comets (Lagos); Hoops and Read (Lagos); Police Baton (Lagos); Lagos Legends (Lagos); Oluyole Warriors (Oyo); and Delta Force (Delta).
Meanwhile, the Savannah Conference contains: Nigeria Customs (Abuja); Nile University (Abuja); Kano Pillars (Kano); Bauchi Nets (Bauchi); Gboko City Chiefs (Benue); Gombe Bulls (Gombe); Correctional Basketball Club (Abuja); and Plateau Peaks (Plateau).

The eventual winner of the 2024 NBBF Men’s Premier Basketball League will represent Nigeria on the continental stage, the fifth edition of the BAL in 2025, and the organisers have promised the teams and officials of a well-organised event.
