NFF appoints Aliyu Zubairu as Flying Eagles head coach

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has appointed Aliyu Zubairu as head coach of the Under-20 National team, Afrosport reports.

Zubairu’s appointment was approved by the Executive Committee after the recommendation of the Technical and Development Sub-Committee of the NFF.

Aliyu Zubairu, who led El-Kanemi Warriors to win the President Federation Cup in June and also ensured their promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), has been tasked with preparing the team for the WAFU B Under-20 Championship in Togo.

It is expected that his experience with Wikki Tourists, Gombe United, and El Kanemi Warriors will positively influence the preparation of the Flying Eagles ahead of the WAFU B U20 Championship, scheduled for October/November in Togo. The zone’s representative is expected to participate at 2025 Africa U20 Cup of Nations.
