Osimhen was named in Galatasaray’s starting line-up despite only joining them on loan from Napoli a few days ago.
He thought he had given Galatasaray the lead in the 25th minute as he nodded the ball which was destined for the net.
But a Galatasaray player Abdulkerim Bardakci got his foot to it just before it entered the net, with Osimhen credited with the assist.
Also in action were Ibrahim Olawoyin and David Akintola for Rizespor.
Former Davinson Sanchez gave Galatasaray the lead in the 3rd minute while Gabriel Sara made it 3-0 on 49 minutes.
Former Napoli star Dries Mertens made it 4-0 on 61 minutes before Baris Yilmaz added the fifth goal with 10 minutes left.
The win took Galatasaray, now on 12 points, top in the league table, just two points above Fenerbahce.
