AFCON 2023: Super Eagles rely on Guinea-Bissau’s own goal to progress

AC Milan forward Samuel Chukwueze and Nantes winger Moses Simon alongside four others are the latest players to arrive at the Super Eagles camp in Uyo, ahead of the 2025 African Cup of Nations Group D qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda.

Chukwueze and Simon are joined by Crawley Town defender Benjamin Tanimu, midfielders Alhassan Yusuf and Raphael Onyedika and Portugal-based defender Bruno Onyemaechi in the Eagles camp.

The six players arrived on Tuesday, taking the total number of players in the camp to 20 as they begin preparations for the upcoming matches against Benin and Rwanda.

The Eagles, drawn in Group D of the qualifiers, are due to face the Cheetahs of Benin on Saturday, September 7, at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, before jetting out to Kigali to take on Rwanda’s Amavubi at the Amahoro National Stadium three days later.
