Antonio Conte gives latest update on Victor Osimhen

The manager of Napoli, Antonio Conte has given his final verdict on Victor Osimhen’s situation at the club following his failure to leave Naples before the end of the 2024 summer transfer window.

There were rumours among football fans that Victor Osimhen would be drafted back into the team in a bid to accommodate two strikers going into the rest of the 2024/25 season. However, Antonio Conte has debunked every news that has been assuming that the Nigerian could find his way back into the team.

What did Antonio Conte say about Victor Osimhen?

The Italian confirmed while speaking to newsmen in an interview that any player who has been left out of the squad for the season will not be reintegrated back into the team.

“No player will be reintegrated, those who are out of the project will remain out of the project. We made our choices and work in one direction all together”.

Osimhen missed out on the chance to leave Napoli despite offers from Al-Ahli and Chelsea but both deals did not see the light of day due to failure to reach the club’s valuation and player’s wages respectively. The 26-year-old will have to wait till January 2025 when the next transfer window opens.
