There are several notable piano recordings among this month’s reviews. Veteran artist Pierre-Laurent Aimard takes on Schubert’s Ländler dances. Yunchan Lim (pictured) displays astonishing artistry in Chopin’s Etudes. Then there are the piano concertos by little-known 19th century composers Henselt and Bronsart, performed with sensitivity by Paul Wee.

Also, we are starting to re-visit some classic albums by some of the greatest 20th century artists, several of which are considered to be definitive versions of the compositions featured on them. For example, we have taken a fresh look at the 1962 recording of the War Requiem by Benjamin Britten. Definitely worth a listen!
