Could Sergio Perez Face the Same Fate as Daniel Riccardo? Ex-Red Bull Driver David Coulthard Issues a Warning

Brain BurstCould Sergio Perez Face the Same Fate as Daniel Riccardo? Ex-Red Bull Driver David Coulthard Issues a Warning

Sergio Perez could end up on the way out of Red Bull Racing just like his predecessor Daniel Ricciardo did if he fails to improve his results in the remaining Formula 1 races, warns former driver David Coulthard.
The Mexican has only managed to score one point in the past two Grands Prix combined, causing Red Bull to lose ground in the constructors’ championship to McLaren.
Ricciardo, on the other hand, struggled with form this season and was eventually replaced by Liam Lawson after the Singapore Grand Prix.
“He did brilliantly in Baku but one swallow doesn’t make a summer,” Coulthard said. “One good result is not what you expect. He is clearly the number two driver in that team.”
“If he doesn’t get solid points for the remainder of the year then, like Daniel Ricciardo, it looks like he’s on the way out of the door. It could be the same situation for Perez.”
Perez will hope to turn his fortunes around when the F1 paddock heads to the Circuit of the Americas in Austin for the United States Grand Prix on October 20.
