EFC 117: Multiple Championship titles up for grabs in Johannesburg

The World Sports Betting EFC Arena will come alive with excitement on Thursday as EFC 117 sets the stage for another epic night of mixed martial arts, Afrosport reports.

The main event for EFC 117 will see Faeez ‘The Troublemaker’ Jacobs square up against Vince Bembe for the vacant Bantamweight Championship title.

Jacobs, who is one of the most renowned fighters to emerge from Cape Town, is widely celebrated for his captivating and disruptive fighting style, and has recently earned his title shot by defeating top contenders Eduardo Barros and Sylvester Chipfumbu.

Standing in Jacobs’ way however is Bembe, a fighter who etched his name in EFC history with a jaw-dropping 13-second knockout of Adrian Sanchez just four months ago.

Regardless, Bembe remains the underdog for this contest.

In the women’s event, Imke-Marishcka Kuikstra, also known as “Stingray,” will be making her debut at EFC 117, likewise Uganda’s Rebecca “Warrior” Amongi from Kampala, Uganda.

In the flyweight division, Kgaugelo Moitshela will be up against undefeated White Lion, Willie van Rooyen.

Former welterweight Ziko Makengele will also be looking to reclaim his title when he faces Benin’s Aaron Ogouniyi.

Catch EFC 117 action live on Afrosport TV on Thursday, September 12 at 6PM West African Time.
