EPL: Ndidi’s Leicester City set unwanted record after 4-0 loss to Brentford

Leicester City etched their name into the wrong side of history after suffering a 4-0 defeat to Brentford at the King Power Stadium on Friday night. 

According to OptaJoe, this marked Leicester’s sixth consecutive home loss without scoring in the Premier League. 

Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi started the match and played 77 minutes before being substituted for Oliver Skipp. 

Brentford opened the scoring in the 17th minute when Yoane Wissa’s strike bounced off the ground and looped over goalkeeper Mads Hermansen. 

The Bees doubled their advantage in the 26th minute through a brilliant finish from Bryan Mbeumo, before Christian Nørgaard capitalized on a free header at the near post to make it 3-0 in the 32nd minute. 

Substitute Fábio Carvalho sealed the emphatic victory in the 89th minute, slotting home after Hermansen had initially denied Mbeumo’s close-range effort. 

At the final whistle, Leicester City fans voiced their frustration with loud boos, as their team suffered a tenth defeat in eleven matches. setting a new record for the longest streak of home defeats without a goal by any team in a single season in English top-flight history.
