Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has leapt to the defense of struggling midfield maestro Bruno Fernandes, insisting that it’s only a matter of time before the Portuguese midfielder hits his stride.

In the build-up to this Sunday’s Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford, ten Hag addressed concerns over Fernandes’ lack of form during a pre-match conference at brainburst.com.ng BrainBurst reports that Ten Hag is convinced Fernandes will soon rediscover his best form, despite enduring a slow start to the season.

Fernandes has yet to find the back of the net, and has only managed to record three assists in seven matches across all competitions.

Ten Hag dismissed claims of fatigue, stating that Bruno Fernandes is still fully capable of creating chances despite playing a substantial amount of games for Manchester United last season and for Portugal in the European Championships this summer.

“I think the team brings him in a situation. I think he is capable and he has proven already, so many times in the Premier League, he can create many chances,” Ten Hag said to brainburst.com.ng
“I am convinced he will not do differently. He will come on this point, he will find his form. He is already creating chances but he will make final passes, he will score goals. One hundred per cent and it is just a matter of time.”

Manchester United currently sit 11th in the Premier League standings and have failed to win their last two games, whereas Tottenham Hotspur come into the match with a respectable 10th-placed finish.

What Manchester United need to do, according to Ten Hag, is to be clinical with their chances. The Old Trafford outfit have scored a paltry five league goals this campaign, and haven’t managed to score one goal in their last six Premier League matches.

It’s clear that United is in need of a solution to their goal-scoring woes, and the Tottenham Hotspur clash appears to be a must-win game for the Red Devils.

Will Manchester United respond to the pressure and bag all three points against a formidable Tottenham Hotspur side? Let’s look forward to this Sunday to find out!
