Manchester United Succumbs to Third Premier League Defeat

Erik Ten Hag’s Manchester United endured a disappointing performance against Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford, suffering their third defeat in the Premier League this season.

The Dutch manager expressed his disappointment after the game during his post-match press conference, citing that his team lost the plot after Manchester United conceded the first goal after just three minutes.

He was quoted as saying, “”To concede a goal after two or three minutes like that, did something to our belief, totally unnecessary. It is the same mistake we did against Twente, it should be stopped in the first moment. We have to deal with this and show resilience. This is not good enough. We have to accept this and get better. Focus on the next game and do things better than we did today”.

He also dismissed rumors of being sacked by the board, stating,”I am not thinking about being sacked, not at all. We all made the decision to stay together Ownership, staff, players, myself. We made the decision from a clear review of what we have to do. We knew it would take some time. We are on the same page together”.

The major highlight of the game was the Red card issued to Bruno Fernandes in the first half after his reckless challenge on James Maddison. With this defeat, Manchester United are now placed 12th in the table after six games, with just two wins this season.
