The former Indomitable Lions striker announced his candidacy for the CAF presidency but was left out of the list of qualified candidates released in January.
His exclusion came as a shock to many across the continent as reports from Cameroon indicate that Eto’o is contesting CAF’s decision and has formally requested CAS to overturn the ruling, enabling him to participate in next month’s election.
A strong advocate for reforms in African football, Eto’o hopes the appeal will reinstate his candidacy and grant him the opportunity to lead the continent’s football governing body.
