Nigeria’s Under-20 Men’s Team, the Flying Eagles, Takes on Burkina Faso in WAFU B U20 Championship

Nigeria’s under-20 men’s team, the Flying Eagles, will take on Burkina Faso in their opening game at this month’s WAFU B U20 Championship in Lome, Togo, reports Afrosport.

The defending champions will lock horns with the Burkinabes at the Municipal Stadium in Lome, on Friday, October 18, with the game scheduled to kick-off at 3pm local time (4pm Nigeria Time).

Meanwhile, the Aliyu Zubairu-led team will return to action three days later for their second and final Group B game against Cote d’Ivoire at the same venue and time.

The WAFU B U20 Championship will get underway with Group A action on Thursday, October 17, as hosts Togo will battle Niger Republic at the Kegue Stadium, while Ghana and Benin, the other two teams in the group, will face each other.

The top two teams in each group will advance to the semi-finals of the competition, which serves as the qualifier for the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.
