Nigeria’s Under-20 Men’s Team Moves Base to Ikenne
Nigeria’s under-20 men’s team, the Flying Eagles, has relocated to Ikenne, Ogun State for the final leg of their training camp as they get set for this month’s WAFU B U20 Championship in Togo.
The young Eagles will resume camping at the Sport Institute of Remo Stars, a Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) club, where they will undergo intense physical and tactical training for a week before leaving for Lome, Togo.
Drawn in a tricky Group B, the Aliyu Zubairu-led side must battle Burkina Faso and Cote d’ivoire.
As Nigeria, the defending champions, look to replicate their triumphant form that led to their championship title in two years ago in Niger Republic.
The championship holds from October 17 to October 31 and will be a qualifier for the 2025 U20 Africa Cup of Nations, that in turn serves as qualification for the 2026 FIFA U20 World Cup finals in Chile.
