Ade, a seasoned actress in the Yoruba film industry, has been making waves in the entertainment scene with her impressive roles in films like Netflix’s Tokunbo, and Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti. In a recent chat with BrainBurst, she opened up about her journey in the industry, starting from her early days in skit making and modelling.

She revealed that she began her acting career in the States, posting her comedy skits on YouTube, before getting a call from filmmaker Said Balogun to feature in one of his projects. She eventually moved to Nigeria and transitioned into film, also exploring her skills in influencing and modelling.

Speaking on how she navigates her career, Ade emphasized that every industry has its unique set of challenges, but she’s grateful to still be doing what she loves. She expressed hope that Nollywood will continue to grow and receive the recognition it deserves.

Ade also hopes that producers and directors will stop stereotyping her and give her a chance to showcase her versatility in different roles. She’s confident in her ability to switch up her character and take on various personas, from the ghetto to more refined characters.

As she concluded, “I need filmmakers to know that don’t just stereotype me into certain characters. Call me, If you need me, I’m available. Let’s not think it’s all prim and proper. I can get dirty, if need be.”
