Former Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa scored a brace as Kano Pillars defeated Sunshine Stars 2-0 in a match-day five encounter in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) on Sunday.

Musa, who recently teamed up with Pillars for his third stint, netted the opener in the fifth minute and doubled the advantage six minutes after the break.

The former CSKA Moscow forward missed a 70th-minute penalty, but his heroic show was enough for Pillars to record their first win in four games.

Musa’s first spell at the club was in the 2009-2010 campaign and finished as the league’s top scorer with 18 goals.

He had another spell in the 2020-21 season and played eight games before returning to Europe where he penned a two-year-deal with Turkish side Karagumruk.
