Leicester City manager Steve Cooper has provided an injury update on Zambian forward, Patson Daka. The 26-year-old was unavailable for the season due to an ankle injury he sustained during the preseason. The surgery done to correct it also kept him out for months.

“It was quite a serious injury and an operation he had to have,” Cooper said before the weekend’s game against Southampton, but confirmed that Daka is in the final stages of his rehabilitation. “He is coming into the final stages of rehab, you won’t see him on the grass, he is very much with the medial team and building up to being with us; his rehab is on track. it was a serious injury.”

Leicester was promoted back to the Premier League after winning the Championship last season and have won one game and had three draws in seven games, currently occupying the 15th spot in the standings.
