Ademola Lookman featured for Atalanta but couldn’t inspire them to victory as they were held to a goalless draw against struggling Venezia in Serie A on Saturday.

Atalanta needed a 3-0 win to temporarily climb to the top of the league table.

Despite dominating the game, Atalanta struggled to break down a resilient Venezia side, who sit 19th in the table with 18 points and are still searching for their first win in 2025.

The draw keeps Atalanta in third place with 55 points, two behind leaders Inter and one adrift of second-placed Napoli.

Lookman made his 21st Serie A appearance of the season, having scored 12 goals so far.

Atalanta controlled proceedings but failed to convert their chances. The Europa League holders registered three shots on target to Venezia’s two, while also recording 11 off-target attempts compared to their opponents’ three.

Gian Piero Gasperini’s side enjoyed 59% possession, with Venezia managing 41%. Atalanta also earned three corners, while the visitors had two.
