Veteran Nollywood couple, Norbert Young and his wife, Gloria, have recently opened up about some strange and unexpected occurrences during their wedding ceremony, sharing their experience in a candid interview. The couple discussed the unusual events that disrupted their special day during a conversation with Tope on the show “Love Notes with Tope.”
According to the couple, one of the first odd occurrences was when the microphone they were using for the ceremony unexpectedly stopped working. Despite their best efforts, they were unable to get it back on, which caused some inconvenience during the event.
Adding to the challenges, the malfunctioning microphone also led to another issue—the DJ, who was supposed to provide music during the wedding ceremony, was unable to perform his duties. Gloria, recalling the moment, explained that the absence of music could have caused a dull atmosphere, but the situation was saved when a group of live bands from Ajegunle stepped in to entertain the guests, playing music for everyone and even engaging in the tradition of accepting money sprayed on the couple during the celebration.
The couple also shared a disheartening moment when the cameraman, who was paid to capture the special moments of the ceremony, failed to send them any footage after the wedding. Despite being recorded throughout the event, the couple revealed that they still have not seen any video of their wedding to this day. Norbert jokingly said, “The microphone didn’t work, the DJ did not play. Somebody brought a live band from Ajegule. That’s what people were using to spray us money. The cameraman was recording, and we haven’t seen Jack till today. No footage, we have the memories in our heads.”
