The 30-year-old forward started the season as Philippe Clement’s main striker, but his profligacy in front of goal cost him his place in the Gers starting line-up. The Belgian coach preferred Moroccan striker, Hamza Igamane.
It is no longer news that the former Feyenoord striker wants more playing time, even if it’ll be away from Scotland. Just before his hat-trick against Fraserburgh, Dessers admitted his future at Ibrox could come to an end this month.
“I don’t know what my situation is now. I can imagine that Rangers might want to earn something from me this month, but January is a difficult window. Clubs that are doing well probably also have a striker who is performing well, and few clubs that need goals will immediately have the millions ready.

According to the Scottish Sun, Spanish La Liga side, CD Leganes, have enquired about Dessers from Rangers. Leganes are desperate to bring the Super Eagles striker in this month, but Rangers are holding out for a fee in the range of €5m, the same amount they splashed in bringing him from Cremonese in 2023.
However, the Madrid-based side cannot match the fee the Scottish giants are demanding, and are looking for other ways to sign Dessers.
A loan move has been suggested by the Spanish side, but Rangers have stalled, as they’re waiting on offers that’ll include a direct offer to get Dessers off their books once and for all.
Leganes are currently 15th on the Spanish La Liga table. Borja Jimenez’s side barely have any security either, as they’re just three points above the relegation spots.
