Finidi expressed his disappointment with the way Iheanacho has been treated since joining Sevilla in the summer on a free transfer after leaving Leicester City.

While compatriot Chidera Ejuke—another summer arrival on a free transfer—has quickly adapted and become a fan favorite at Sevilla, Iheanacho has struggled to earn a place in the manager’s plans.

The former Manchester City striker has managed just three goals in 11 appearances across all competitions, all of which came in two Copa del Rey matches – the only games in which he has played the full 90 minutes since his arrival.

In La Liga, Kelechi Iheanacho has been restricted to 401 minutes across nine games, with only five starts to his name.

He was left out of Sevilla’s matchday squads for their last two league fixtures against Girona and Valencia, and he remained an unused substitute in the 4-2 defeat to Real Madrid.

Despite being at the club for less than six months, the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup winner has reportedly been informed that he should find a new club before the January transfer window closes.

This treatment has left former Super Eagles winger Finidi George fuming, prompting him to advise his fellow Nigerian to consider leaving the Andalusian outfit.

“I think they have disrespected him in many ways,” Finidi told Africa Foot.

“They expected a lot from him when he arrived, but it’s still early days, and he hasn’t been given enough time to settle in. In my opinion, he should leave the club if any good offers come along.
“He is 28 and still has a lot to offer, but he needs to be at a place where he is truly appreciated. A return to England would be a great option, but he could also explore opportunities in new environments.”

Reports suggest several English clubs, including West Ham and Watford, are interested in signing Iheanacho, raising hope for a potential return to the Premier League for the Super Eagles striker.
