Ramsey Nouah Takes the Reins with New Film, Tòkunbọ̀

Ramsey Nouah, the Nigerian actor and director, has proven his mettle by tackling two of Nollywood’s top films: “Living In Bondage: Breaking Free” and “Rattlesnake: The Ahanna Story.” Both films, which earned him Director of the Year honours at the Best of Nollywood Awards (2020) and AMVCAs (2022), are reimaginings of Nollywood classics. This time, he ventures into original storytelling with his crime thriller, Tòkunbọ̀, starring Gideon Okeke.

Gideon Okeke, who stars as Tòkunbọ̀, an ex-car smuggler, describes the film as “fast-paced with a pulse. It has a heartbeat.” Despite facing numerous challenges during filming, Gideon believes the film will resonate with viewers across societal classes. He hopes that everyone can see themselves in the characters, with their struggles and relatable storylines.

Now streaming on Netflix, Ramsey hopes viewers will love Tòkunbọ̀ as much as he does. He believes the film has something for everyone, with its gripping narrative, pressing social issues, and empowering female characters. Share your thoughts on this new thriller! Leave a comment below!
