Wunmi recalls Mohbad’s final moments: ‘He fell and begged for water’

Wunmi, the embattled wife of the late singer Mohbad, has come forward with a detailed account of the harrowing events that led to her husband’s untimely passing.

In an emotional revelation during a recent appearance on TVC’s Your View show, Wunmi shared her side of the story, explaining how Mohbad’s condition rapidly deteriorated after he received injections from a nurse who was called in to administer treatment for his injuries.

According to Wunmi, the nurse arrived at approximately 2 p.m. while she was in the kitchen, preparing food for their son Liam’s five-month celebration. She immediately accompanied the nurse upstairs, where they decided to treat Mohbad in the master bedroom due to space constraints within the house.

Recounting the moments leading up to the tragic incident, she explained, “The nurse checked the wounded area, and I made sure to inform her that my husband had an ulcer, so she needed to be mindful of the medications she was administering. I asked about the injections, and she mentioned that she was giving him tetanus and some other medications. She administered the first injection without any issues, then the second. However, as soon as she injected the third, Mohbad reacted suddenly, saying that he felt uncomfortable and needed her to take it out. He said he had the urge to vomit and urinate immediately.”

Wunmi continued narrating how she quickly assisted Mohbad to the restroom, where he vomited and relieved himself. However, things took a drastic turn when he attempted to return to the room.

“The moment he came out of the restroom, he suddenly collapsed and began screaming for water, saying his heart was burning. He was sweating profusely, so we immediately poured water on him. He asked for the air conditioner to be turned on because he felt unbearably hot inside. Despite our efforts, he started developing goosebumps all over his body and continued to vomit uncontrollably,” she recalled.

With Mohbad’s condition worsening, Wunmi and others present at the scene decided to move him to Liam’s room, where there was an air conditioner, hoping it would help ease his discomfort. However, he remained restless and unwell. Realizing the severity of the situation, they quickly sought help from a neighbor since Mohbad’s car was not in a drivable condition.

Due to heavy traffic on the roads, they resorted to transporting him on a bike to the nearest hospital. Unfortunately, upon their arrival, the doctor pronounced him dead, marking a tragic end to the life of the talented young artist.

Mohbad’s sudden demise on September 12, 2023, sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry and his fanbase, sparking widespread outcry and calls for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death. Many people, including fans, celebrities, and legal experts, have continued to demand justice, questioning whether his passing could have been prevented.
