The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Cape Verdean official, Delgado Santos Rocha Lenine, as the referee for Nigeria’s visit to Libya in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, reports Afrosport .
The Super Eagles will take on the Mediterranean Knights in the second match of their double-header at the Martyrs of Benina Stadium in Libya, on Tuesday, October 15, with kick-off set for 9pm local time (8pm Nigeria Time).
Rocha will be assisted by compatriots Djêry Gomes Lopes and Jorge Santos Fonseca Aritson, who will both function as assistant referee 1 and assistant referee 2, respectively.
Meanwhile, Burkina Fason’s Hamidou Diero as been appointed as fourth official, while Amir Abdi Hassan from Somalia is the match commissioner.
CAF also selected Mali’s Dramane Dante as referee assessor, with Rachid Medjiba from Algeria in the role of security officer.
The Super Eagles saw off their north African counterpart in the first leg on Friday as Fisayo Dele-Bashiru’s late strike sunk the Libyans at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
Nigeria currently sits atop Group D with seven points, Benin Republic is in second place with six points, while Rwanda (2) and Libya (1) occupy the third and fourth spots, respectively.
