Cote d’Ivoire avenge defeat, beat Flying Eagles 2-0 in friendly

Nigeria’s Flying Eagles suffered a 2-0 defeat to Cote d’Ivoire in a friendly match at the Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny in Abidjan on Friday. 

The Junior Elephants secured the win to avenge their 2-0 loss to the Flying Eagles in the first friendly on Wednesday.

Tape Kader put the hosts ahead in the 17th minute, while Isaac Cisse doubled the lead in the 53rd minute to seal the victory for Cote d’Ivoire.

Both nations utilised the friendlies as part of their preparations for the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations. 

Aliyu Zubairu’s squad will take a one-week break upon their return to Abuja before regrouping for final preparations ahead of the tournament. 

The seven-time champions have been drawn in Group B alongside Egypt, Morocco and South Africa.
