Since joining Galatasaray on loan, Osimhen has been in outstanding form in front of goal.
The Super Eagles star has netted 14 goals in 18 league appearances and 20 across all competitions this season.
The former African Player of the Year has also been in fine form, scoring four times in his last five games for Galatasaray.
Metin, a former Beşiktaş player, believes Djiku is the ideal defender to neutralize Osimhen’s threat.
“If we get Osimhen from Galatasaray, he won’t be able to go to the goal right now,” he was quoted as saying by habersarikirmizi.com.
“I will give Djiku to Osimhen and say ‘Wait on his back even when he goes to the edge of the pitch to drink water.”
Galatasaray currently sit atop the league table with 63 points, holding a six-point lead over Fenerbahce.
However, Fenerbahce have displayed slightly better form in recent weeks. Despite winning just one of their last six encounters against Galatasaray—losing four—they will head into the Istanbul derby with confidence.
On the injury front, Galatasaray will be without Álvaro Morata, who is sidelined with a hamstring injury, potentially paving the way for Osimhen to partner Ahmed Kutucu in attack.
Mauro Icardi remains out for the season due to a serious knee injury, while Ismail Jakobs continues to struggle with an Achilles issue.
Fenerbahce, on the other hand, will be without Çağlar Söyüncü and Diego Carlos, though Alexander Djiku is expected to return to the defense after recovering from injury.
