Naija Ratels star Azeezat Obadun hails victory over Benue Queens
Naija Ratels forward Azeezat Obadun shared her excitement after her team secured a hard-fought 1-0 win against Benue Queens in their latest NWFL clash.

Obadun described the match as a “very strong,” admitting that her team hadn’t anticipated such a challenging contest.

“The game yesterday was a very strong match, I won’t lie, we didn’t expect the match to turn out that way, but we thank God for giving us the victory,” she told NAIRA SPORTS.

Despite the difficulties, Obadun was pleased with her team’s overall performance in the first round of the season.

“It wasn’t a bad one so far because we’ve only lost just 1 match throughout the first round,” she noted.

Obadun credited her team’s success to their pre-season preparation, which was centered on securing a spot in the Super Six.

“Our performance this season is actually a good one, and the reason is that we planned not to just participate in the league but to make it to the Super Six, and that’s what we have been working on,” she explained.

Obadun stated she is aiming to be the top scorer award in the league.

“My goals and target of the season is to be among the top scorer in the league, and I think it’s still very much achievable,

“I will rate my performance so far this season 40%. I have only played 2 matches, and I hope to improve in my attacking area in the scoring aspect,” she admitted.

More goals should be expected from me, and winning should be expected from my team,” she concluded.
