Not easy to balance academics with football-Olamide
Dannaz Ladies Football Club forward Isiaka Olamide Saidat has shared the challenges she faced while balancing academics with her football career.

Determined to make a significant impact in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) for the 2025 season, Olamide has already played in the team’s last two matches and is optimistic about her contributions to the club’s success.

Olamide’s journey is particularly inspiring due to her successful balancing act between academics and athletics.

“Balancing academics with football during my undergraduate years required effective time management and dedication.

“I prioritised my studies while committing to my training and matches, using breaks in my academic schedule to fit in practice sessions,” Olamide told NAIRA SPORTS.

Olamide’s footballing accomplishments are impressive. She played a vital role on the Lagos University women’s football team that clinched the gold medal at the Africa University Games last year.

The former Dream Ladies star emphasized that football is more than just a game; it brings her immense joy and personal fulfillment.

“The happiness I derive from playing football is amazing. Scoring a goal is a truly special experience. My parents have also been a great inspiration to me,” she said.
