Former Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions, Rivers United, moved up to second place after a hard-fought victory over Katsina United.
Ubong Friday scored the decisive goal in the 17th minute, securing all three points for the hosts.
The match, initially halted due to a heavy downpour on Thursday night, resumed on Friday morning for the second half.
With this win, Rivers United now have 42 points from 26 matches.
Finidi George’s side will next take on Shooting Stars at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan, on Monday.
